The three new patterns

This new collection is a collaboration between YASIMA and Dutch textile designer Mae Engelgeer, inspired by YASIMA’s textile archives dating back over 100 years. The collection features a groundbreaking combination of Kyoto-woven fabrics enhanced with Japanese lacquer, creating a product unlike anything seen before. This innovative fusion of tradition and modernity opens up endless possibilities for design and craftsmanship.

Charm

Flowing gradients of rich tones and precisely arranged circle motifs create striking accents in this collection. The textiles, offered in three color-ways inspired by the beauty of Japanese nature, are adorned with geometric lacquer patterns. This harmonious combination evokes a sense of elegance

流れるような濃淡のグラデーション。一定の間隔で表現されるサークル模様がアクセントとなり、日本の自然を感じる３色のテキスタイルに幾何学模様の漆が載った柄にはどこか優美さが感じられます。

GROW

The striking pattern of circles in varying sizes evokes the image of water droplets creating ripples on a still surface. Overlaying the design with square lacquer accents brings out the lingering resonance of these ripples, adding a touch of sophistication.

大小のサークルが印象的なテキスタイルのデザインは、まるで水面に水滴が落ちているような表情をみせます。その上をスクエアの漆のデザインで留めることで波紋の余韻を楽しむような柄になっています。

DARE

This pattern, rooted in Japanese traditional pattern such as Ichimatsu and Igeta, features a combination of squares accented with dots. Enhanced by the addition of simple lacquered double lines, the design conveys a cool and solid impression.

日本になじみのある市松模様や井桁模様を思わせるスクエアの組み合わせにドットでアクセントを加えたテキスタイルパターン、その上にシンプルな2本線の漆を載せることで表現するデザインはクールでソリッドな印象が感じられます。
