YASIMA  × CRAMBES 

YASIMA supplied its fabric to CRAMBES, a French hat manufacturer, for the production of two styles: a cap and a bucket hat. This one-off collaboration grew out of a meeting at a trade show in Japan.

YASIMA fabric is used across the entire outer surface. Urushi lacquer is applied over a Kyoto silk textile. The piece is characterised by the lustre of the silk, the sheen of the lacquer, and a three-dimensional quality you can feel by hand.The clean lines of each hat come from CRAMBES' shaping expertise.

The bucket hat likewise features urushi lacquer, applied as a dot pattern over the silk textile.

YASIMA supplies Japanese-made fabrics to makers in Japan and abroad.

CRAMES

Founded in 1946 in Caussade, France, CRAMBES is a hat manufacturer and the only atelier in France to carry out every stage of hatmaking in-house, from block shaping through sewing to finishing. It has been certified by the French government as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV — Living Heritage Company) since 2007, and all production takes place in France.
